
Barbara Frankland has been representing clients in the Kansas City area for almost 15 years and prior to that time worked for a securities law firm in Burlingame, California. Recognized as a leader in Kansas City's business community and in the field of mediation, Barbara is the recipient of a number of awards for her civic and professional work.
Barbara is an experienced trial advocate and appellate researcher who has served as trial and appellate counsel in a wide variety of class action and complex civil litigation matters. In addition, Barbara has successfully represented clients in employment law, discrimination, oil and gas, personal injury and securities law matters.
Barbara was the Chair of the first Midwest Mediation Conference in Lawrence, Kansas in 1999. The conference continues to this day, rotating among the states of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. (The most recent conference was held April 19-20, 2007 in Overland Park, KS).
In addition, Barbara has taught courses in civil mediation and has made numerous presentations on alternative dispute resolution for, among others, the Kansas Department of Human Services, the Academy of Family Mediators, Heartland Mediators and the University of Kansas Regent's Center.
